Quitting is stupid
2008, May 3. by Sknownotice
The title of this post was the opinion voiced by a person towards the questioning the decision to quit from a university or a college. The person is not me; some other person. For a stupid person like me, all he needs to do is asking opinion and advice from other people in order for himself to be able to come up with a wise decision. I did that. Yes, indeed it is the very best thing that I could do. It didn’t end there; decision-making continued.
I might have been acting all way stupid: follow almost exactly what a lecturer wants students to do assignment in a particular format; copy whatever-lecturer-wrote-on-white-board in the class; lend a hand on other lazy students who desperately need the tutorial solutions; et cetera. Taking into account what I have been through until now I think I took the “most appropriate” decision all the time. Even if I was stupid.
Back to the questioning again: Should I quit from the university or not? The current best decision is to finish my current trimester. That’s for sure. Suppose I take away the “what if” situations and could just pierce through all the way to graduation for the next two years, neglecting other problems and ceteris paribus, the best decision is… to continue study?!

“Ceteris paribus” from the context of economy means “all things remain unchanged or equal”.
Life goes on. Whether you are involved in or not. Do what really, really makes you happy. Be free and joyful and hurt no one. Now if I could only take my own advice…
Peace,
